Rigging Fall Arresters
Petzl’s ASAP’SORBER energy absorber works in conjunction with the ASAP or ASAP LOCK mobile fall arrester, allowing the user to work at a greater distance from the rope. The ASAP’SORBER features tear-webbing inside an opening pouch, protecting the device from abrasion wear while still allowing for easy inspection of the webbing itself. Available in lengths of 20cm or 40cm, the ASAP’SORBER limits the impact force of a fall on its user, allowing climbers to work safely at a greater distance from a rope.
Petzl’s ASAP’SORBER Axess is an energy absorber designed specifically for use with the ASAP or ASAP LOCK mobile fall arresters. The Axess allows the user to work safely at a distance from the rope, enhancing protection during crucial phases of work. The energy absorber is equipped with a pouch filled with tear-webbing. The pouch opens on each end, protecting the absorber from surface abrasion while still allowing regular safety inspections.
The unique locking system of Petzl’s ASAP back up device provides unmatched peace of mind for workers at height. In normal use, the ASAP back up device glides freely along the rope, mirroring the user’s movement without any intervention. When subjected to sudden acceleration or shock loads, the ASAP locks firmly onto the rope, stopping the user’s descent immediately. The ASAP has also been designed to be combined with a Petzl ASAP’SORBER or ASAP’SORBER Axess energy absorber to increase the distance at which a user can safely work away from a rope.
The Petzl ASAP Lock mobile fall arrester moves freely along the rope, allowing for simple rope ascents. The free moving device follows the user in all their movements without any intervention. In the event of a sudden movement or shock, the Petzl ASAP fall arrester locks up immediately, stopping any fall before it starts. The locking function allows the user to immobilise the device, reducing any potential fall distance. Thanks to the connection arm, the ASAP Lock is drop-resistant when passing intermediate anchors. Used with an ASAP’sorber or ASAP’sorber Axess energy absorber, the Petzl ASAP Lock can allow users to work at a distance from the rope.
