Petzl ID S Descender

The Petzl Descender ID S is equipped with an integrated anti-panic function. Also, it contains an inbuilt anti-error catch that works to minimise the risk of accident. The auto-lock mechanism makes positioning yourself at a workstation simple and quick. As a result, the need to manipulate a handle or tie off the device is eliminated. Once locked, the rope can be taken up without manipulating the handle. Furthermore, Petzl’s intelligently designed safety gate allows for ropes to be installed without removing the device from the harness. The Petzl Descender I’D S is compatible with ropes between 10mm and 11.5mm, and is rated to safely handle loads up to 250kg. In addition, the I'D itself is designed for work at height and rope access work, meaning that its ergonomic design is ideal for smooth movement along inclined or horizontal terrain. • Handle automatically switches to storage position when the rope is removed from the device. This reduces the risk of accidental snagging when the descender is carried on the harness.
• Once locked, the rope can be taken up without having to manipulate the handle, for making a reversible haul system or for easy short ascents, for example
• Cam can be manipulated to feed out slack easily or belay a lead climber using climbing techniques.
• The moving side plate locks with a screw, allowing the I’D S to be integrated into rescue kits.
• An auxiliary brake, open or closed, may be added to improve descent control depending on the weight and rope diameter.
• The stainless steel wear plate improves durability by reinforcing the rope friction zone
