DMM Phantom Screw Lock Carabiner
Weighing just 42 grams, the DMM Phantom is among the lightest screwgate carabiners on the market. Despite its featherweight construction, the carabiner’s advanced design and materials allow for a very useable 15mm gate opening and generous dimensions of 54x94mm. Yet, strength isn’t compromised as the Phantom maintains impressive ratings of 24kN major axis and 9kN minor axis strength. As a result, the phantom maintains one of the highest strength ratings relative to its size.
- Personal Locking Carabiner for versatility and low weight.
- Used where weight and size are as important as strength, such as on sling runners and for most connection points on belay stances. In a standard 2 person climbing team, most of your locking carabiners will be personal lockers.
- Offset D carabiner for optimal loading and ergonomics which improves handling and compatibility with thick ropes and slings.
- This carabiner's nose slots into a groove in the gate, allowing it to achieve full strength without a gate notch. This creates a clean internal profile that won't catch on gear, bolts or slings, giving easier clipping and removal from systems.
- I-Beam construction techniques allow carabiners to be lighter without compromising strength. This is achieved through hot forging, a process which allows metal to be made into complex shapes that improve functionality.
